Take a Pew Exhibition - Dartington Cider Press Centre

“Take a Pew” is an exhibition of fine furniture focused around seating, following the journey of traditional furniture through to the more modern.

I have been invited, along with five other furniture makers; Lawrence Neal, Alun Heslop, James Otter, Nicholas Langan and Natasha Gowdy, to exhibit their work, each following their own journey into the past and future exploration of furniture making through their designs. For the exhibition I have made some new stools in the same design as my popular Rocket Stool and a brand new oak bench in my own signature style.

The exhibition organisers at Dartington have said that each maker strives to create superb and unique designs, often allowing the wood to speak for itself, the simple beauty of the timber leading the way. Functionality and durability of design always as important as the aesthetic.

Not to be missed!

When: 24 September – 07 November 2010 - open daily
Where: Dartington Cider Press Centre, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 6TQ
