Following a successful career in product design consultancy, working with clients worldwide and developing ideas with entrepreneurs, I moved to Devon in 1997 in order to set up David Ames Studio and focus on the design and making of bespoke furniture. Prior to establishing my own workshop I re-trained with Michael Scott, a fine cabinet maker and Parnham graduate.

I like to combine traditional and modern techniques to create furniture that will last for generations to come, and with my comprehensive design background and experience of developing projects with clients, I can work with you to realise your own idea for that special piece of furniture.
